The Afternoon Drive
Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 12/5/11: I chose this video for this week because the other day I was talking with a couple of friends about the old Twilight Zone TV series & one of them mentioned that his favorite was an episode titled "A Stop At Willoughby". I surprised him by mentioning that the episode featured my uncle James Maloney. No surprise that it happens to be my favorite episode too! In this clip he appears in the first 2 minutes & the last minute or so as well. My uncle is the Willoughby train conductor. Hope you enjoy this Twilight Zone clip with the "Kelly Connection".

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 11/13/11: I chose this video for this week because this past weekend my daughter called to tell us that she was engaged! Happy news & Edwin McCain captures the sentiment perfectly in this video! Dads everywhere.....enjoy my video of the week.

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 4/11/11: I chose this video for this week simply because it is one of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies. It runs about three & a half minutes but check the whole thing out because I'm sure you'll get a chuckle out of the end of it. It was filmed in 1972 but still a great movie.

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 2/7/11: I chose this video for a couple of special reasons this week. First of all the song is clever & funny. And if you read my blog this week you’ll understand the other reason it was chosen. I think it was filmed a couple of years ago at Mount Hope Estate and Winery (Home of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire) located in Manheim, Pennsylvania.

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 1/4/11: In memory of Gerry Rafferty: One of his best & my personal favorite of his from the album "Nite Owl". Found this interesting video on the web. A time lapsed trip from LA to NY. So enjoy the video, but more than anything enjoy the song! Some great lyrics.

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 12/6/10: Wednesday of this week is the 30th anniversary of the death of John Lennon. For me it is one of those times in life when you remember exactly where you were when you heard the news. I was watching the Patriots & Dolphins on Monday Night Football when Howard Cosell made the announcement. This week's video pick is a live version of Come Together that John performed at Madison Square Garden with Elephant's Memory in the 70's. Check it out.

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 12/1/10: HAPPY HANUKKAH FROM THE DRIVE! Let's hear from Adam Sandler one more time! Here's Adam Sandler's "Hanukkah Song";

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 11/21/10: HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE DRIVE! Here's Adam Sandler's "Thanksgiving Song";

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 11/14/10: A few years ago my daughter turned me on to this mellow tune. It's called "The Lighthouse's Tale". She was in college at the time & brought it home during one of her breaks. I've liked it ever since. The lighthouse is telling the story. Hope you like it. ;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 11/7/10: Always loved Elvin Bishop's "Fooled Around & Fell In Love" from 1976. In this video Mickey Thomas talks about how the song finally got recorded almost two years after he first heard it. Kind of a neat story, so if you have a couple of minutes check out my video pick for this week.;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 10/25/10: With Halloween coming up this weekend I thought I'd drop in a quick scene from the movie Young Frankenstein, one of my favorite movies & I think one of the funniest ever put on film. Hope you enjoy this scene where Dr. "Frankenstein" meets "Igor" for the first time. Happy Halloween & I hope you enjoy my video pick for this week.;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 10/17/10: Here is a quick scene from the movie Airplane! Barbera Billingsly who played the mother on the old TV show "Leave It To Beaver" died this week at the age of 94. She plays the woman translating "jive" for the stewardess. Funny stuff! Hope you enjoy my video pick for this week.;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 10/10/10: Remembering John Lennon this week. This song is from the "Imagine" LP. The tune was originally for a song John wrote during the White Album sessions titled "Child Of Nature" but was never released. John re-worked the lyrics to come up with what I think is one of his best love songs. Hope you enjoy my video pick for this week.;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 10/3/10: This Saturday John Lennon would've been 70 years old. So for the week leading up to his birthday I found this to be a touching reminicence from Paul McCartney. In an interview not long after John's death he remembers a song from his very earliest days with The Beatles and then emotionally plays a recording of his favorite John Lennon song.;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 9/27/10: I consider this to be one of the funniest comedy routines in history. If you have some time, just listen to the whole thing & I guarantee you'll at least crack a smile before it's over;

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 9/20/10: The Beatles in one of the earliest music videos. Even Harrison comments about that at the very beginning of this week's featured video. Enjoy the 1966 video for "Rain"

Here's Ed's video pick of the week for 9/13/10: I first saw these guys in the early 1970's in Connecticut & have been a fan ever since. So if you're in the mood for a great mellow song, listen to a live version of "The Highway Song" by Aztec Two Step
